National Tree Day - Planet Ark

My name is Debbie Agnew and I am the National Tree Day Manager at Planet Ark.

I wanted to get in touch with you regarding National Tree Day 2017 and hopefully getting Friends of Parks SA involved. For an organisation like yours, taking part in Tree Day ticks a lot of boxes because of its ability to:
  • enhance local communities,
  • connect people with nature,
  • empower individuals to make a difference,
  • inspire positive environmental change, and
  • safeguard our country’s native flora and fauna

It would be great to work together to leverage our synergies.

We’d be delighted to have Friends of Parks SA on board this year for National Tree Day and have you officially register to run a local community tree planting event or nature-care activity at treeday.planetark.org.

Running a Tree Day event is a great way to foster connections with communities across the country, giving you exposure and face-to-face contact with potential new members and providing an opportunity to highlight the great work you are doing. Each year over 300,000 people take part in Australia’s largest community tree planting and nature-care event at over 3,500 locations nationwide. Planet Ark provides ideas, resources and assistance for site coordinators, and we can also be of help with media outreach and public relations activities to promote your event/s.

We’d appreciate your help promoting Tree Day to your members and networks via existing communication channels online and by email.

Dig in and register at treeday.planetark.org or call 1300 88 5000 to run a tree planting event or nature-care activity at your nearby park, sports field, nature reserve or workplace.

I hope this is one of many initiatives we can do together to help Australians get into nature and care for our planet. You can visit treeday.planetark.org to find out more information, and if you have any questions or would like to discuss further, please don't hesitate to contact me and my team on 1300 88 5000.

Many thanks and warm regards,
