Vale Dianne Cordes

Hi everyone

It is with great sadness that I let you know that Dianne Cordes, a tireless volunteer and dear friend to many, passed away last night at 7.40 pm, after losing a very long battle against cancer.

Dianne was a strong supporter of Friends of Parks Inc., having been a President, Secretary, and Member of several groups, including the Friends of Old Government House, Friends of Belair National Park, Heritage Committee - just to name a few.

I have just been speaking to Lorena (daughter), who has advised of the funeral details:

Entries are now open for the 2017 South Australian Landcare Awards.
Calling for nominations from Landcare leaders working on sustainable farming, Coastcare, Junior Landcare, Indigenous land management, and much more. With nine national categories there is certain to be one to fit any kind of Landcare project.

Call for Abstracts - 2017 State Community

Landcare Conference.
Abstracts are now invited for presentations, posters and workshops addressing the Conference theme of Celebrating Innovation and Diversity in Landcare.
Abstracts are to be submitted under one of the four conference streams of Engagement; Security; Enterprise; and Partnerships.

Belair National Park - Volunteer Centre Bookings

Good morning,

There have been a couple of changes in the procedure for booking the Volunteer Centre.

Volunteer Centre Bookings

1. All bookings must be made through the Secretary (Tina Gallasch) at this email address or by phoning 8178 0688

2. The cost for booking the Volunteer Centre for a meeting and/or event is now $30.00 per day.

3. All attendees at such meetings and/or events will be allowed in the Park free of charge.

However, any major event must also be sanctioned by our Senior Ranger Jen Pitman. If in doubt, call me first.

Hi everyone

Please find attached the 2017 Nomination Forms and the Selection Criteria Forms for the Rotary Club of Burnside’s ‘Leadership in Conservation’ and ‘Volunteer of the Parks’ Awards.

Nomination forms need to be returned to Rotary by 28 February 2017.

Please note that the closing date for nominations has been extended to Friday, 17 March, 2017.

The awards will be presented at a Dinner, which will be held in April 2017, at the Belair Country Club.
