The Rotary Club of Burnside hosted an enjoyable dinner at the Belair Country Club on 13 April 2016, for the presentation of the 2016 Leadership in Conservation, and Volunteer of the Park awards.
Bob Cooper, Past President, opened the proceedings and welcomed everyone, with Rotarian Dave Harrison making the Invocation and Loyal Toast.
The awards date back to 1984 when the Ranger of the Year Award began, followed by the introduction of the Volunteer of the Parks Award in 1988.
This is the 32nd year of the Awards.
Chief Executive, Department of Environment, Water and Natural Resources, Ms Sandy Pitcher, addressed the gathering on behalf of the Hon Ian Hunter, Minister for Sustainability, Environment and Conservation, who was unable to attend.
