A Friends of Torrens Island Interim Organising Committee was formed at the launch of the Friends of Torrens Island, held as a picnic at the Quarantine Station in January 2012.
Their first meeting was on the 16th May 2012 at Argos Hellenic Café Restaurant in Port Adelaide.
The aim of the interim committee was to plan for and hold an inaugural general meeting (IGM) of the Friends of Torrens Island, with the future aim of incorporating the group.
The interim committee ratified it’s final draft of the FoTI constitution and on the 13th of September 2013 FoTI become incorporated.
On the 27th of November 2013 FoTI held it’ s Inaugural General Meeting at the Gallery Yampu which was attended by some 30 people.
On the 17th of December 2013 FoTI’s now constitutional based committee met to discuss appointment of Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer roles.
Friends of Torrens Island Incorporated is now registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-Profits Commission (ACNC).
